Troost, Dutch for comfort or solace, captures the essence of my approach: thoughtful, uplifting design with a sense of quiet luxury. Drawing on my Dutch heritage, I focus on flow, conviviality and the perfect balance of aesthetics and practicality. Nature inspires my use of pattern, texture and colour to enhance mood and space, while treasured family pieces and personal stories are seamlessly woven into each scheme.

Subtle references to heritage or personal meaning, whether a fresh tartan on a footstool or a favourite artwork influencing a colour palette, ensure every design feels authentic and deeply connected to the client.

Homes today must work hard. I introduce clever storage to reduce clutter, curate beautiful pieces for open display and use multi-layered lighting to create atmosphere. Mirrors are positioned to maximise light and frame views, while performance fabrics, refined window treatments and tactile finishes ensure spaces are both functional and luxurious.

Mindful of budget, I combine durable, affordable materials with investment “hero” pieces that elevate a room.
